What are the hours that I can access my storage unit?
Monday to Saturday 7:30am – 5:45pm
Sundays 8:00am – 5:00pm
Public holidays — Closed
Do I need to supply my own padlock?
Yes. You can supply your own and keep the key, or we sell padlocks at our office.
Can I store my car, boat or caravan?
Yes. We also have vehicle storage set up specifically for fully enclosed or outdoor.
How long can I rent my self storage unit for?
Long or short term storage is available. You can rent storage units from 1 month to over a year.
Can a removal truck access the site easily to unload my items?
Yes. Our storage yards are large so that a removal truck can park near your unit for quick unloading.
Am I the only person that will be able to access my self storage?
Yes. You can authorise another access on your behalf if required.
Is the site secure?
Yes, we are within a security gated complex. We also have CCTV surveillance and a fully self contained lockup building with alarm monitoring.
Do I need to supply my own insurance?
Yes. The same as if you rented a home or unit, you are responsible for insuring your own contents.
How do I make my payments?
Payments can be made at our office, or you can direct debit to our bank account, or also over the phone via credit card.
Packing advice from 30 years on the job
Moving is always a stressful & busy time. We understand, and always love to ensure you have the easiest possible storage experience. Here are some tips and tricks to help you.
Planning your unit
As a general rule place large, heavy items that you can stack upon at the rear of the unit. Then work forwards and upwards with lighter, fragile items. Place items you may need often at the front, and allow for walkways where needed. Packing in professional storage cartons makes stowing and unpacking easier and safer.
What NOT to store
Any goods that are illegal, stolen, inflammable, explosive, environmentally harmful, hazardous, perishable or that are a risk to the property of any person — e.g. chlorine, acid, paint and petrol.
Save time and money
Cartons, porta robes, paper, tape, bubble-wrap and plastic covers protect your goods in storage. Fill cartons to capacity — partially full or bulging cartons may tip or collapse. Pack heavy items like books or tools in small cartons, and label room by room.
Appliances
Fridges, freezers and other white goods should be thoroughly dry and clean before storing, with the door secured slightly ajar. A deodoriser inside helps maintain freshness. Don’t place items inside — shelves and linings mark easily.
Furniture
Empty wardrobes, drawers and cupboards to protect the shelving and structure. Pack clothing in strong cartons with mothballs or similar. Where possible remove legs from bed bases and tables to avoid damage and save room. Vacuum crumbs from lounges to prevent vermin.
Dishes & glassware
Line the bottom and top of cartons containing breakables. Wrap fragile items individually in packing paper. Nest cups and bowls; stand plates, saucers and platters on their edges. Fill any gaps, label fragile cartons and avoid stacking heavy items on top.
Mirrors, windows & paintings
Protect with bubble-wrap or a flat-pack carton and store standing on their edges in an upright position — not lying flat.
Electronics & computers
Original boxes are ideal. Otherwise wrap individually in bubble-wrap, pack in good quality cartons and pack out any gaps. Secure turntables and tone arms, and pack records on their edges to prevent warping. Remove batteries from battery operated appliances and toys.
Metal, mowers & machinery
Wrap silver in non-acid tissue paper or plastic bags to reduce tarnishing, and wipe chrome or cast iron with a little machine oil to retard rust. Drain fuel and oil from all machinery — petrol and oil left in machinery are a fire hazard.
